The beaches of Kenya are some of the world’s most alluring playgrounds. Besides the beauty and tranquility, they offer plenty of opportunities for water sports and other beach vacation activities. Or simply sun-bathing. One is not surprised then, that more than 50% of Kenya’s international standard hotels are based along the coast.

Some of the fun things to do while on your beach vacation on the Kenya coast are:

Dolphin-Watching
Since dolphins are frequent visitors off the Kenyan coastline, dolphin-spotting dhow trips are organized to the Kisite Marine Park. This is a full day trip with traditional lunch served either onboard or on Wasini Island. Snorkeling equipment is provided so that you can build up an appetite while exploring the coral gardens.

Dhow Trips
A dhow is a traditional sailing ship with over 1000 years history of plying the waters of the East Africa Coast. Built entirely from wood, they were traditionally used to transport spices, carpets, and other goods between Africa and India. Sightseeing, lunch or dinner is available with on-board entertainment in form of fire-eaters, limbo dancers, acrobats and more.

Dhows usually have wooden eyes carved into the front sides. It was believed that these eyes would protect the dhow from being marooned on reefs, and from the evil eye that could be placed by the enemies. Today, the tradition lives on, even though the superstitions have died out.

Visit to the Marine Parks
The beach towns of Mombasa, Malindi and Watamu all have marine parks and reserves are simply amazing in terms of diversity and beauty of the marine life they host. They pars and reserves are also very accessible. The Kiunga Marine National reserve provides a refuge for rare sea turtles and dugongs – mermaids. Trips from the hotels can be arranged to the animals and appreciate the conservation efforts being undertaken to save them from extinction.

Deep-sea fishing
Some of the best fishing off the African continent is found off the Kenyan coast, where many all-Africa records have been set. Kenyan waters are home to millions of billfish and contain the top sporting game-fish. Malindi is probably the best place in Africa for sailfish, while the Pemba channel is known for striped marlin, large yellow-fin tuna and sharks. All along the coast from Lamu in the north to Shimoni in the south, boats and equipment are available for hire.

Scuba Safari.
The Kenyan coral reef is home to some of the world’s most diverse marine life. Swim along the coral gardens and visit the marine life underwater. For wreck divers, MV Diana lies in around 35 meters of water just off Bamburi Beach in the north coast beach of Mombasa.

Various activities are also available along the entire coast, including windsurfing, water skiing, snorkeling and scuba diving. Surfing can be found off Lamu at Sheila beach, but beware of sharks, as there is no coral reef.

Most hotels will have an information desk where you can access information on how to book a motorhome and get your watersports and activities organized.

————————

Marbella in Southern Spain on the Costa del Sol has that very famous and so apt motto “A Way of Life” and, undoubtedly that does convey in many ways the effervescent spirit of this outstanding luxurious coastal resort.

Like wise having a Marbella Hot Tub for entertaining and relaxing is also a way of life.

Here in Marbella you can find entertainment and the arts for varied tastes.

There are many outstanding art and fashion shows held in Marbella often for leading and exclusive brands.

Marbella still remains a very favourite destination for many and has much going for it.

Yet again Marbella and its environs are remaining and becoming a desired location with the famous and those who enjoy the best in life.

In central Marbella there is the famous Orange Square, or “La Plaza de los Naranjos” it is a lovely Marbella square and really worth a visit. Here one can see interesting Marbella buildings, bars, restaurants, shops of all kinds including outstanding art galleries. Many outstanding fashion shops can also be found in Marbella.

One should have a good look round and make the time to visit all the surrounding narrow streets where peoples homes and shops just seem to merge to create a small village atmosphere reminiscent of the famous Brighton Lanes in England instead of a very busy town.

There are many varied restaurants to choose from around this Marbella square.

From this square it is a very short stroll to the sea front where there are also many pleasant Marbella restaurants.

The Marbella Marina and Port is regularly a host to many top line cruise ships.

The views that one can find in Marbella are great in that you can have mountain views (of the La Concha Mountain) and able to see the Atlas Mountains in Morroco and of course Gibraltar.

La Concha is that very striking mountain that sits behind Marbella and its image changes quite strikingly depending on where you are viewing it from. It rises in height over 1,200 metres so is quite a height by any standards.

La Concha in Spanish transalates to “The Shell” La Concha sits firmly and squarely at the end of the Sierra Blanca range.

Not far away is the equally famous resort and Marina of Puerto Banus or give it its original name Puerto Jose Banus. Another stunning location packed full of interesting bars and restaurants.

As always there are new restaurants opening and now we have Novellis at the Lorcimar Hotel (soon to change its name to Sisu Boutique Hotel) in Banus.

I have met Jean Christope Novelli and have had the fantastic pleasure of attending one of his workshops in Spain.

He is an outstanding chef and a real master of his art.

So this is an ever changing and growing area as I said Marbella “it is A Way of Life”.

————————

The author Jacuzzi John (JJ) supplies premium quality American & European Hot Tubs in metal buildingsfrom Marbella & Estepona on the Costa Del Sol in Spain and his web site is at http://www.spas4you.com email info@spas4you.com

There are many quieter, traditional areas of Greece which repay investigation and can provide an idyllic holiday, away from the more bustling tourist centres. The power of Greece is very much contained in its diversity – many different kinds of holiday are on offer in this ancient country with a traditional heart.

Without doubt, those looking for hedonistic holiday pleasures will never be disappointed – the sun, sea and sand; the warm, lazy days and nights; the waterside wining and dining – it is all here in abundance.

Greece has the second highest number of Blue Flag beaches of any country in the world – an award which confirms and demonstrates the quality and cleanliness of its beaches and sea.

But of course, Greece also has 4000-years of culture and history. Western civilization had its birthplace here, as attested by archaeological sites which include Olympia and Delphi as well as many hundreds of lesser-known location, representing cultures from the early Bronze Age to the sumptuous Byzantine era.

Meanwhile, anyone who has been to Greece will come back with many stories of the Greeks themselves, a friendly, lively and inquisitive people who will always go out of their way to make holidaymakers welcome.

Another great attraction is Greece’s nature and environment. The country has fantastic mountain ranges – especially on the mainland, and so Greece becomes a magnet for walkers and hikers; springtime is an excellent time to go for those interested in flowers – Greece has over 6000 flowering plant species, a third of Europe’s total.

Identifying Greece as a country for the adventurous, the country has literally hundreds of islands which range from little more than a tiny rocky outcrops, to an island as large as Crete, which is almost 180 miles long and has its own unique identity and spirit.

An example group, ideal for island-hopping and finding peace and tranquility as well as holiday hotspots, are the Cyclades. Located in the central Aegean sea, these are most the archetypal Greek islands, with bright, white villages to explore, quaint working harbours, fine secluded beaches, and small chapels all added in the mix. Each island in the Cyclades has its own atmosphere, giving wonderful contrasts with just a few short cruising miles in between.

An example island to discover is Andros, which is just 2 hours by boat from Athens and is the second largest of the Cyclades group, after Naxos. Andros is great for walkers, with mountains and over 70 villages to explore.

All this is so much more accessible than in the past. These days, access to Greek Islands is becoming easier, with more flights arriving from Europe direct to such locations as Kefalonia, Mykonos, Santorini and Kalamata amongst others, a holiday in Greece does not have to start at the main international airport in Athens with its xenon lights.

————————

Jimi St.Pierre in association with travel correspondent Penny Church, has worked with Sunvil – the “real Greece” – to produce elements of this article. Find Greece holiday brochures online with map-based holiday brochure finder Travelwhere.
If you’ve got some time to spend in South East Queensland, your two choices are the Sunshine Coast or the Gold Coast. With both destinations being equidistant from Brisbane airport, it can be a tough decision to make.

Depending on the type of holiday you want though, one region may be suitable than the other. Do you want an action-packed holiday with fun and excitement, or do you want to “get back to nature” and relax? Of course, it’s possible to find both in either location, but each has its own specialty.

For example, with a Sunshine Coast holiday, you can visit one of its many individual national parks. In fact, this region boasts more individual national parks than any other Queensland region. In addition, the region is naturally biodiverse, and has been protected by separate parks (five in all) in the hinterland in coastal regions. These include The Great Sandy National Park (including Fraser Island and Cooloola sections near Rainbow Beach), Kondalilla National Park, The Glasshouse Mountains National Park, Mapleton Falls National Park, and Noosa National Park.

The Sunshine Coast doesn’t disappoint; with serene, immaculate beaches perfect for surfing or lazing about, gourmet dining accommodations, boutique style shopping, and of course beautiful nature pursuits. The shopping is diverse, with plenty of salons for help with acne treatment.

A Sunshine Coast holiday can give you the perfect vacation with your family or be a romantic getaway for you and your “significant other.” There are strawberry farms around the Sunshine Coast, so that you can take the kids strawberry picking if you want to, or you can walk through Noosa National Park where you just may be lucky enough to see goanna, koalas, and many bird species including the black cockatoo. Take your family snorkelling among the coves there to see rainbows of fish or turtles meandering about. And visit Eumundi on either Saturday or Wednesday to get a taste of the best country market in the area, particularly for arts and crafts.

If it’s raining, you can go to attractions like the Buderim Ginger Factory, Australia Zoo, Underwater World, Big Pineapple and Aussie World.

Look to Sunshine Coast accommodation for a wide range of places to stay no matter what you want, whether it’s a five-star resort or some time spent camping in the countryside.

If you go to the Gold Coast after you’ve visited the Sunshine Coast, the first thing that will surprise you is the staggering number of high-rise buildings. In fact, this is the sixth most populated city in the country and has an amazing nightlife and many tourist attractions just waiting for you. You may think that the Gold Coast is too busy and has been spoiled with so much construction but, if you feel that way, go to the west of the city. There, the hinterland will give you the tranquillity of the rain forest for a peaceful transition from beach to bush.

Tourist attractions there include amazing surf beaches and theme parks such as Warner Bros. Movie World, Currumbin Sanctuary, Paradise Country, Australian Outback Spectacular, Dreamworld, WhiteWater World, Wet’n'Wild Water World, Sea World, and Fleays Wildlife Park.

The Gold Coast also has the Q1, which is the world’s highest residential tower. It has an observation deck on floor 77, a popular tourist attraction since its opening in 2005. It is 322.5 m high, and literally towers over the Surfers Paradise skyline.

Of course, you’re going to be missing something if you don’t partake in a bit of surfing when you visit the Gold Coast. There are 57 km of coastline, as well some of the most popular surf breaks in the country; some are Main Beach, Snapper Rocks Superbank, and Burleigh Heads.

No matter where you choose to take your holiday, and no matter what you want in that holiday, whether it’s an adrenaline fuelled action-packed vacation or relaxing get away, both a Sunshine Coast holiday and Gold Coast holiday will meet your needs.

Choose the holiday you want. It’s there for the asking.

————————

Roger Laganin runs ocean front Sunshine Coast accommodation at the Catalina Resort, Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia where you can relax, play or do business. Find out about their special deals for a limited time only at => http://www.catalinaresort.com.au

Hawaii is a great resort for any family vacation. When you have worked hard throughout the year it really is a big move to finally make the decision to go on that perfect beach holiday. Beach vacations are always a perfect option for family holidays and Hawaii is one of the most popular beach resorts around the world. If you are planning a vacation anytime soon you may want to consider all of the options available. You may choose to stay in a hotel or even participate in group tours, but for some of us the best option will simply be finding a rental that is able to accommodate you and your family.

When you think about a family vacation there is always a lot to consider – when you can go, how long for, and whether you will be able to schedule time away from school and work. Once you have sorted out all of these issues you will then need to consider which home you want to rent, and this will need to be big enough to accommodate the whole family. Things will be much simpler for you if you choose a home that has it all – large living space, a dining room and even a laundry room withbathroom safety products.

Once you arrive in Hawaii there are a number different things to see and do. There are so many tourist attractions that the only problem you will have is in deciding which ones to see. As well as family events, Hawaii can also be the place for a perfect honeymoon, and if you had your honeymoon in Hawaii then you will already have some idea as to what you might expect out of a family holiday. There are many top locations for action packed holidays, including Oahu, Maui, the Big Island and Kauai.

Whether this is your first trip to Hawaii or whether you have been there five times already you are guaranteed to find new and exciting things to do there. Of course, here are the beautiful beaches and the great games you can take part in. The beaches themselves are a great place to relax, with calm seas and beautiful sands. The water is safe for children of all ages, and all kinds of experienced swimmers. The hoopla is great fun, and your holiday will only be made better when you have the chance to win some fun prizes.

As you can see there is a lot to do, and Hawaii is a popular destination for tourists from across the world. Family holidays can create great memories that will be treasured for years to come, and there are also some great sightseeing tours for the adults as well as the children. The weather is just beautiful, and all of this can be made amazing by renting a beautiful beach side property. Just start looking at all of the options available and make that dream holiday in Hawaii become a reality.

Nothing sounds more exotic or exciting than luxury adventure travel to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands. Let’s take these one at a time and see what you would be getting if you indulged yourself with luxury adventure travel of this kind.

First the Galapagos Islands. Luxury adventure travel to the Galapagos Islands is following the footsteps of Charles Darwin and the Beagle, as he formulated his theory of evolution by studying the life forms on these islands, untainted by human hand for thousands of years. You can try to spot the blue-footed boobies waddling among the hundred year old 600 pound tortoises, or seek out the Amblyrhynchus, a three-foot long, iguana resembling a dinosaur that lives only on these islands.

You could make your initial stop to tour Quito, and have a look around one of the Indian markets nearby, such as the Saquisili Indian market, and buy a hand-made Panama hat – these are made in Ecuador, not Panama! Quito itself offers a great deal to the adventurer, and you will be able to straddle the equator – one foot in the northern and another in the southern hemisphere. Quito was destroyed by the Indians to prevent it being taken by Pissarro, and rebuilt by the Spanish colonialists.

Then take a business class flight on your first stage to tour the Galapagos Islands, and transfer to a luxury cruiser to visit Espanol Island, the first of the Galapagos Islands you will visit. Don’t forget that this is luxury adventure travel to the Galapagos Islands, and that you should want for nothing: the best accommodations and personal attention.

After admiring the iguanas, which swim only at this island, cruise over to Santa Cruz, and visit the Charles Darwin Research Station at Academy Bay, where you will check out the captive tortoise and iguana breeding centers. After crossing the equator, Genovesa Island can be very deceiving. The quietness of this volcanic area lulls you into a false sense of security, because you will shortly enter Darwin Bay and be assaulted by the sound of thousands of birds of many different types: boobies (both blue and red footed), Audubon’s shearwaters, noddies and red billed tropicbirds among many others. This is an ornithologist’s heaven.

Wreck Bay (I wonder how it got that name) on San Cristobal is the administrative capital of the Galapagos and you can fly from there back to Ecuador, connecting in Guayaquil for your flight to Lima. This is the start on the second part of your vacation: Luxury Adventure Travel to Machu Picchu. However, why rush it? Why not first have a look around some of the other places that Peru has to offer?

Take a trip to Cuzco: at three miles high, one of the highest cities in the world. Imagine your 100 meters time here! When you get this high, you have to take it easy or you could become ill, so let yourself acclimatize after your sea-level trip to the Galapagos Islands. Give it a day and then head off for a tour to Chincero in the Urubamba Sacred Valley, to learn something about the old ways of the Incas. Keep in mind that is a luxury vacation, and in keeping with that you should also visit La Cicciolina, which one of the best restaurants in this part of the world. Now you are ready for your luxury adventure travel to Machu Picchu!

What better than a luxury train ride on the Hiram Bingham train to the lost city, enjoying champagne and a top class brunch on the way. It was Yale historian, Hiram Bingham, who brought Machu Picchu to the attention of the civilized world in 1911, and wrote his first book on his finding under the title “The Lost City of the Incas”. In fact the city had been constructed around 1460, when the Inca Empire was at its peak, and it is believed that it was abandoned less than 100 years later due to an outbreak of smallpox killing most of the inhabitants.

Although many think it had ceremonial origins, current belief is that it was an estate of the Incan emperor, Pachacuti, and it is certainly not mentioned in any of the writings of the Spanish conquistadores. Whatever its purpose, this is an extraordinary city, totally invisible from below, and completely self-contained with its own springs and terraces devised to produce enough food to feed a large population. It also possesses baths, storage rooms, temples and around 150 houses.

It is not enough to travel this far and simply walk around the ruins, or those of them that you are permitted to visit. The ecosystem around the area is fascinating, and luxury adventure travel to Machu Picchu would be incomplete without learning more about this cloud forest. For the botanist there are more than 372 species of orchid to enjoy, from the lady’s slipper to tiny specimens needing a magnifying glass to appreciate.

Finally, when you return to Lima why not complete your luxury vacation and visit the Larco Herrera Museum, then take a private tour of the city, visiting both the modern and the old colonial areas of Lima.

You don’t get to enjoy luxury adventure travel to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Island very often, and you want it to be a wonderful experience, so find a tour company that can offer you personal attention, and with planners that can offer you a personal vacation just for you and a partner. That is far better than joining 48 others, and enables you to enjoy true luxury vacation with luxury travel, accommodation and cuisine that you will remember forever.

————————

If this itinerary excites you, then check out how to arrange your own luxury adventure travel to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands, with travel and accommodation for two only, at http://www.ultitude.com and enjoy the luxury vacation of a lifetime.

The city of Pattaya is located along the Gulf of Thailand, on its East Coast. This tourist city plays host to more than 5.4 million visitors, with many high rise skyscrapers and a reputation as a city that never sleeps. It was during the 1960s that Pattaya began to focus on tourism as opposed to fishing for its inhabitants’ livelihood. There is also a large expat community in Pattaya, many from the UK and from Russia. Thai people from Bangkok escaped the worst of the heat and pollution in their capital city by recognising the benefits of the sea air and began holidaying here. Pattaya became a recognised beach resort for many of the servicemen stationed at U-Tapao, the US base in Rayong province, during the Vietnam War with the result that Pattaya acquired a rather suspect reputation. As the Vietnam War came to a conclusion and the servicemen were shipped home, Pattaya lost its identity, resurrected later when it came to be put on the tourist map during the era of mass tourism.

Pattaya remained a haunt for single men seeking out local girls, a reputation that has remained until quite recently when the Thai Government began to legislate against the lucrative sex tourism industry, attempting to make Pattaya a respectable place for families to bring their children on holiday. Petty crime and pollution remained rife, despite the Pattaya City Act which appointed a local Council-Manager to oversee the self-administrating municipality – an act which did not particularly find favour with the local residents of Pattaya. In 2008 the Thai Government imposed a restriction on alcohol sales designed to stop the 24-hour image portrayed abroad, with the intention of greatly limiting the continuing sex industry that continued to grow.

Family tourism has, however, developed despite its suspect reputation, with 35,000 hotel rooms being available for tourism during 2005 and families from the Eastern European countries and from Scandinavia finding Pattaya a place they enjoyed holidaying in.

Apart from the famous sweep of Pattaya Beach, there is a huge range very beautiful scenery. A visit to Mae Hong Son mountains is absolutely delightful, with its breathtaking scenery. If you fancy a change of beachfront there is always a trip to the Andaman Islands, limestone islands thrust up from the Andaman Sea. With Thai music and dance, the food, the best diet pills, and the architecture you will be really spoiled for choice and find you will want to return to Pattaya again and again.

————————

Goverment forces are pursuing the Tamil Tigers in the Jaffna, Mannar, Welioya, and Vavuniya regions, so it is best to avoid those areas. The rest of the island is still just as beautiful. Sri Lanka is known as A Land Like No Other, and this island continues to entice anyone seeking a vacation on a lush green tropical paradise.

Long before Marco Polo declared Sri Lanka the finest island of its size, this beautiful country found its way into Greek, Egyptian and Indian literature, where it was known as Taprobane, Serendib or Lanka. The Sri Lanka mystique perseveres, unfurling before the senses as soon you arrive: the heavy warm air, the rich green foliage, the luxuriant swirls of the Sinhalese alphabet, the multicoloured Buddhist flags, and the kaleidoscope of saris, fruits, jewellery and spices on display in the markets. A visit to this gem of an island will leave you with memories that endure all your life.

When planning a trip or vacation in a tropical climate such as Mexico it would be a good idea to know when and where hurricanes occur. Hurricanes and more generally, tropical cyclones occur in seven distinct areas around the globe. Several hurricane formation basins are much livelier than others and manufacture many more tropical storms and hurricanes.

How Hurricanes Form

When comparing formation zones, some tropical cyclone basins have a greater duration and time frame in which tropical cyclones may occur during the year. How hurricanes form; most tropical cyclones form from a disturbance in the monsoon trough. However the north Atlantic basin is significantly different though, due mainly because most of these hurricanes form from easterly waves of which originate from Africa

Hurricane Season Forecast

The North Atlantic Ocean, hurricane season begins: June 1 through to November 30; and becoming more active in mid August through the latter part of October. Locations included in this region are the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean.

Hurricanes may also affect the southern and eastern U.S., the Caribbean, the Bahamas, Bermuda, eastern Mexico, and eastern Canada.

The Eastern North Pacific Ocean, hurricane season begins: May 15 through to November 30. The Eastern North Pacific Ocean is known as the second most active region for tropical cyclones in the world. Included in this basin are the popular tourist destinations and resorts of western Mexico and Cabo San Lucas.

Pacific Hurricane Season

The Northwest Pacific Ocean, Typhoon season: Year round, and is the most active basin in the world. Most typhoons form July through November. Guam, the Philippines, southeast China, and Japan are all within this zone.

The Bay of Bengal or, Arabian Sea, harsh Cyclonic storm season: Early April through the end of December. This basin has a double maximum because of the monsoon through moving through at two different times of the year. Maximums occur from mid April through May and from mid September through mid December. India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar are all affected by these tropical cyclones.

The Southwest Pacific Ocean, mid October through May 1 is considered Severe Tropical Cyclone Season. These tropical cyclones may affect eastern Australia.

The Southeast Indian Ocean, mid October through May is also considered Severe Tropical Cyclone Season. These tropical cyclones may affect northern and western Australia. Mid January, and mid February through early March, this basin has a double maximum.

The Southwest Indian Ocean, October 15 through May 15, is Tropical Cyclone Season. These tropical cyclones may affect Madagascar and southeastern Africa. Mid January and mid February through early March has a double maximum.

Prior to your travel plans it would be wise to learn more on Where do hurricanes occur and hurricane preparedness by visiting Hurricane Preparation webite.
